Group Bookings and Special Occasions

The Abbott and Barr Smith family and friends have gathered in the picturesque Mount William Station for over a century. Now they have opened their home – allowing you to create your own unforgettable memories.

The Homestead

Since being established in 1842, Mount William Station has been host to groups of family, friends, and dignitaries alike. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Grampians, the Homestead is a luxury, countryside accommodation that can host up to 20 of your closest loved ones and friends.

Whether you want to have an outdoor pool party or a long lunch in the Bluestone Stables, the Homestead is the ideal home base for your special day. Practical and picturesque, the historic Homestead is the perfect backdrop as you get ready whether you’re getting ready in the Barr Smith Master’s dressing room or cheersing with a celebratory champagne in the Rhino Room.

The Shearers' Quarters

First established in 1869, the Shearers’ Quarters was home to Mount William Station’s extended family of shearers and station workers. The spirit of this unique accommodation experience remains to this day – it provides the backdrop for new generations of families and groups of friends to start their own conversations, share special moments, and create new memories.

With room to host 18 of your closest loved ones and friends, the Shearers’ Quarters is a space to be shared, featuring eight bedrooms (Master Bedroom and seven Shearers Rooms) and three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and living area, a sun-soaked courtyard, outdoor barbeque and fire pit.

The Bluestone Stables

Recently renovated, the Bluestone Stables is equipped with a private dining room, bar, front and back courtyard, and a covered dining hall that can host more than 150 guests. True to its name, the stables theme runs through the space, giving it an elevated country feel. The perfect space for a sit-down dinner or a full blown party, the versatility of the space is customisable to make your dream countryside event come to life.

The Front Lawn

Framed by expansive hedges, five acres of meticulously manicured green lawn space is yours to customise to your liking. Expansive and vast with lush, century old trees spotted throughout, the Lawn is a beautiful backdrop for drinks, socialising, or even a round of golf.
Whether you want to an enclosed marquee or keep it outdoors, the Lawn is the perfectly place to host your guests no matter how big or small your event is. With the Homestead’s iconic arches to one side, the impressive hedges to the other, and the Grampian mountain ranges in the background, there’s no location more picturesque.

“I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at this venue and staying in the homestead. The place is infused with rich history, and the management and staff went out of their way to extend a warm and friendly welcome. The culinary experience was exceptional, particularly noteworthy for offering the best gluten-free choices I’ve encountered. Whether you’re contemplating a stay or considering it as a wedding venue, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The overall experience exceeded my expectations, and I can’t speak highly enough of it!
Thank you, Natalie and the team!!!”

“We chose Mount William Station for an intimate family event back in October and we could not have been happier! There is something truly special about this place. The views, rooms and grounds make for such an exciting backdrop. The staff went above and beyond to make our time there special and worry free. The drinks and the food made for such an elegant evening, would highly recommend hosting special group getaways here!”
